What is Dichroic Fused Glass?

Dichroic Glass was first developed by NASA for use in satellite mirrors. Multiple ultra-thin layers of different metal oxides (gold, silver, titanium, chromium, aluminium, zirconium, magnesium, silicon) are evaporated on to the surface of the glass in a vacuum chamber.

The fabulous optical effects of dichroic glass lends itself perfectly to the creation of the dazzling jewellery items available for purchase on the site. Each piece is hand crafted by Glass Kanvas to produce truly unique and individual personal jewellery. Due to the firing process, no two items will ever be identical.

The items displayed for sale on the site are the actual piece that you will receive. We photograph each creation as it is finished so that what you see is precisely the unique product that you will own.
